What are Demon Pro Turbos?

Demon Pro Turbos are a hybrid High-Flow Turbos with two massive advantages:

  1. They will bolt directly onto a stock setup and perform like a stock turbo charger, even though they have larger compressor wheels.
  2. The internal makeup, bearing set and materials of the turbo far surpasses turbos built for stock levels of boost, meaning they can also be boosted up to around 24psi, with ultra quick spool and factory reliability.

 

Whats wrong with the OEM Turbo?

One of the most common faults for the Toyota Hilux and Prado that plague the owners existence, is HIGH EGT'S and EXCESSIVE BACK-PREASSURE. The 30110 and 30160 turbo's both have one fundamental flaw, the factory design of the rear wheel and VNT (Variable Nozzle Turbo) assembly doesn't cope with excess heat, even slightly hotter than normal will cause the rear turbine wheel to chip and flake off, sending metal fragments all throughout the rear housing and into the exhaust. This also causes the turbo to not be as efficient, making a very distinct whistle noise and basically not able to build any boost at all.

Not only that, the internals of the OEM turbo are limited to around 20 to 22 psi, even that is playing with fire on a stock turbo. The tune would also need to be heavily EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) conservative to make sure not to destroy the rear turbine.

The Demon Pro Turbo features a full 360 degree thrust washer with extra oiling ports. This allows the turbo to physically spin faster and able to keep up an adequate oil supply to the bearings, making sure not to ever run dry and come into contact. This is where some OEM Turbos fail under more than stock boost. This setup we test and warrant up to 24psi reliably.

Upgraded Rear Turbine Wheel - By far the most crucial upgrade in the turbo has been the redevelopment of the rear turbine wheel. We have reduced the rotating mass, as well as reduced the back-pressure by removing 2 blades entirely. This switch to a 9 Blade turbine means that there is alot less resistance in the rear turbine housing, meaning not only will it spool faster than factory, buy you can comfortably push slightly higher in your Exhaust Gas Temperatures, add more boost and rest assured you have a turbo capable withstanding heat!
