The 2.3L petrol version CX-7 is one of the most popular SUV in Australia. It was released from 2006 and discontinued in 2012.
Here we are going to talk about one of the most common problems of CX-7 turbocharger. We have replaced a CX7 turbo for our customer this week. We inspected the car & original turbo and found out the oil feed pipe to turbo was blocked by carbon deposit / sludge. It restricts oil flow to the bearings of turbo and it causes oil starvation, which damages the turbo consequently.
The damaged turbo was replaced with our ceramic & billet CCT CX7 turbo and the blocked oil feed line was also replaced with a brand new one, and the turbo works mint now!
We see many Mazda CX-7 vehicles with damaged turbos and most of them are cause by oil starvation or oil contamination to the turbocharger. That why we strongly recommend to replace the oil feed line when replacing the turbocharger!
